Watershed Projects

Prevention Invasive Species | Erosion| Wildlife | River Mead | Future

Ausable River Association to protect and enhance the natural and cultural resources of the Ausable River Watershed. ASRA a cooperative organization that brings together landowners, town governments, other non-profit organizations, and State and Federal Agencies to accomplish its mission.

Ongoing projects from invasive species, i.e. Rock Snot (Didymo), erosion issues found from the East Branch to the West Branch i.e. River Mead Project, and stabilization and re-establishment of the wildlife environments i.e. Cascade Lakes project. Since nature and man are always changing the projects never really seem to be completed, but we have reached some of our goals. The future of our efforts all reflect on how we maintain and preserve our watershed.

ASRA is constantly updating and seeking resources/solutions to target issues important to you:

  • Invasive Species
  • Water Quality
  • Fishing and wildlife enhancement
  • Preserving scenic beauty
  • Cooperative governance
  • Flood control, flood forecasting
  • Stream bank erosion
  • Sand and salt from roadways and ditches
  • Education
  • Recreation and Respect
