Identify hemlock trees and HWA

Thanks for joining us March 2 for hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) survey field training, in partnership with the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP). Participants learned to identify hemlock trees, survey for hemlock woolly adelgid, and report their findings in iMapInvasives, as well as refresh their winter outing safety skills. Training took place at Owen Pond Trail off Route 86 between Lake Placid and Wilmington. This in-person training is designed to gain field experience after participating in an online training webinar hosted by APIPP. The online portion of the training took place on February 16. You can watch a recording of the event here. For more information, email Liz Metzger, Research Associate: liz@ ausableriver.org.
