The Ausable Freshwater Center is launching the Ausable Conservation Nursery (ACN), a native tree and shrub nursery at the Uihlein Foundation Farm. The trees and shrubs will be propagated onsite and transplanted into the production field. ACF's goal is to eliminate deer browse pressure at ACN by installing a 10-foot deer barrier fence around the perimeter of the 14-acre field (Fence A). The selected contractor will be responsible for designing, sourcing, and constructing a 10-foot exclusion fence with two entry gates. The criteria for this fence are based on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Fencing Handbook for Deer Exclusion Fence.
